I have some, but they operate on unleaded white gas. We Amish aren't
allowed to use computer items that are powered by anything else.

Very nice comback. I've been checking into those 9-pin
connectors, and it seems they are not wired the same as
a PC serial port, so I've decided to attempt to make one.
I also looked into whether it is even feasible to try and I
am probably, most likely, going to have to scrap the idea,
but I will try it nonetheless. Thank you for the reply though.

No, they have no kinship with PC serial ports other than the fact that they use the same number of pins. You need to chase down some of the little transformers used to interface with LocalTalk or PhoneNet LAN cabling. Many of the transformers have a 9-pin(?) mini-DIN connector on the computer side, but you can cut it off and replace with a DB-9M. The pinout is documented in Inside Macintosh and/or the Appetalk documentation (free on Apple's web site).
