Because there is virtually no legal barrier to that kind of development,
the C-64 patents having mostly expired (the year 2003 being a magical
year for that sort of thing) and the trademark symbol up for general
appropriation (no need to pay a licensing fee), the current user thereof
being a foreign corporation not interested in defending it, and the
value of the copyrights having become negligible and not just nominal.

I wonder what ever happened to the folks behind the Spartan computer,
a Commodore/Apple hybrid of sorts? Most of them must have gone on
to bigger and better things, but then again...
|Personally, I'd like to see a "super IIe" rather than a new GS...
Be sure to include a TALK/LISTEN negotiator so we can use all of
those Commodore disk drives, too.
