yes, the slot that's right next to the power supply.

more or less, but I can't really tell things like socket size. it's a
little cluttered on that side and I dont' want to take it apart and
break something.

that sounds like it could be right, the card says "816 CARD" on the
right side.
this also agrees with what bill said when he saw the pictures I had
taken, after I started talking to him about that serial card.

again, I dont' know a IIe from a hole in the wall, so if you want more
info than is shown in the pics, you'll have to walk me though the
process of getting it :)
