I'd go for a IIe Card in a Mac with an LC slot.  That supports the 5.25"
drive, is accellerated, and has a hard disk, in addition to the Mac
accessory.

Good choices would be a Performa 575, which has an 040 cpu and built-in
color monitor (there's one of them in the St. Vincent de Paul in Rohnert
Park, CA . Probably get it for $5 or $10...), or a Color Classic with the
motherbd from a 575, so you get 040 performance in a compact platform.  I
have one of those I'll part with.
