Re: The IBM PC's slavish devotion to the Apple II
Pardon my rebuttal, but one of the reasons Apple IIs
are where they're NOT today is due to a lack of
cooperative ventures. Everyone went their own ways.
If you know the story from the beginning, before the
Apple I was even created, Woz, Jobs, Gates and one
other, who's name slips my mind for now, all worked
together developing concepts which would be the
composite of all home and business PCs today. Please
check your sources. MicroSoft has more to do with the
success of Apple than anyone chooses to admit. I've been
following the battle between IBM and Apple and IMHO,
Apple would have been dead in the water, so to speak,
had IBM not stepped in and kept them afloat. So, if
you'd like to rephrase your post, please do, otherwise,
keep it to yourself.
This post shall in no way reflect on my feelings toward
the Apple II line. It was and is and probably will always
be in the hearts and minds of all who have had the pleasure
of owning one, whether for $1200, or free from a dumpster.
Let's give this thing a rest.
Thank you.
