I bought this thing.  A Belkin OmniView Mac adapter, part #F1D080.  They're
designed to put ADB-based Macs on PS/2-based KVMs.  Naturally, I thought,
what the hell, I'll try this out on my IIgs.  Well, now I have to buy
another one for my Mac, because the IIgs gets to keep this one.  It works
beautifully, and my ROM 03 even lights the caps lock key on my IBM keyboard,
just like it lights up for the Apple Extended Keyboard II.

Here's what I learned.  For the keyboard and mouse, at least, the device
draws power from the ADB bus.  I didn't bother hooking up the video part of
the adapter to the IIgs at all.  Also, it works with USB to PS/2 adapters.
I played an entire game of Battle Chess on a Microsoft USB Optical
Intellimouse Explorer with one of those adapters.  The special, magic button
at the top of the Mac keyboards that turns on the machine is actually on the
Belkin box, but that doesn't matter since you can't turn on a IIgs using the
keyboard's power-on button anyway, and once the computer is powered on and
the ADB bus is powered up, you can reboot the IIgs by pressing
Ctrl-Alt-Backspace (NOT delete).

HOORAY I am happy this works.  Now, everyone commence telling me how stupid
it is to waste my $40 on an adapter when I can buy real Extended II ADB
keyboards and mice for $5.
