Initially if you do not have DOS33 or ADT on the Apple II, the PC will be aable to 'type in' the code for the software needed. (DOS and ADT are seperate transfers.) After that, the ADT program running on the two computers transfers the sector data from a whole disk across the cable. ADT can either build a DSK file on the PC or put the sectors on a real diskette on the Apple II, depending on which way the transfer occurs.

I whole heartily support the magazine, I'm a subscriber, but I think the CSA2 FAQ on transfers is a better 'complete reference'. It even shows you how to do the transfer WITHOUT any software for the PC, something not mentioned in the article.
