Believe me, you want to get ADT. ADT is a two piece software, one part
runs on the Apple, one on the PC. It has good documentation, also it is
described in the FAQs for this group. The docs also explain which cable
to use. You do need a Serial Card in the Apple to use it.
Do you have a DOS 3.3 system disk, any disk that gets you to a prompt
from which you can do an INIT command OR can you start PRODOS and format
a disk from the Prodos system tools OR do you have a few formatted disks
(not commercial software disks) the contents of which you don't need any
more?
If you have none of those the first thing to do is to dump DOS 3.3 to
the Apple. This requires nothing but a cople of empty floppies. Read this:

If you do have a formatted disk, read the ADT documentation that comes
with the ADT package. ADT exists as DOS, Windows and Macintosh versions
but you operate it mostly from the Apple side once the Apple part of the
software is on the Apple. How to get it there is described in the
documentation.
