CoCo Joystick to Apple IIe?

Hi all,

I have a bunch of Radio Shack brand analog joysticks which were sold for
their TRS-80 Color Computer series and was just wondering if a simple
cable adapter would work in order to interface these round 5 pin (and
round 6 pin) DIN male connectors from these joysticks to the DB9 pin
female found on the back of the Apple //e, //c, IIc Plus, and IIgs
computers?

Has anybody ever tried this? And if so, what were your results?

The 5 pin male (single button joystick) is the same as the 6 pin male (two
button joystick), just with the center pin removed.
