A ROM 3 IIgs can definitely boot from the Mac server. I've never had any
luck getting a ROM 1 IIgs to boot off the server, but other people have. I
did get a ROM 1 to connect to the server by booting from a floppy, though.
Do you know which version of IIgs you have? If you open the lid and can see
the battery in a holder beside the power supply, it's a ROM 3. If the
battery is under the power supply it's a ROM 1, or rarely, a ROM 0. The ROM
0 firmware is too old to work with most software.
