Great Monitor

Hi,

I recently purchased a kool little monochrome
monitor from eBay, a Data-Ray DR6509.
Once I cut off the plug and attached a 2 pin
female molex connector to the power cable
and a male RCA connector to the video,
I plugged the molex on the fan supply of my IIgs
and the video to the composite output. Then after
a few minor adjustments I see a very crisp and
clean B/W screen. there is a little notch in the
right hand corner of the top and bottom of the
screen, maybe one pixel high and an inch in
length but I can live with it. I assume this is from
the difference in H-sync of .014 kHz. I have a
request in for the schematic as everything on the
circuit board seems to be color capable. After a
rather lengthy conversation with the rep from the
company, I conclude that they construct one board
for each size CRT and then simply set them up to
run the way the customer requires. He wasn't sure,
but he believes although it has the mono composite
cable attached that it may in fact be able to assimilate
color. There is a 6 pin molex header next to the 2 pin
mono input, so it could be, and if so I'll be in Apple II
heaven. This thing weighs about 5-6 lbs, making it a
prime candidate for portable Apple II. I love it. If you
can get one they are great. See ya.
