Two totally different things. The Apple II Guide was put out by Apple.

The Apple IIGS Buyer's Guide was a quarterly magazine published by Redgate
Communications. That was the first magazine that included me in their
masthead as a "Contributing Editor" and it was the first magazine that ran
my articles under the "Shareware Solutions "banner. The last issue was in
1990. The magazine was purchased by inCider, and that's how my columns
ended up in inCider/A+. If anyone cares, that is ;-)
