For the IIGS, Apple's HyperCard and Roger Wagner's HyperStudio
were designed to allow the 2nd generation computer users like
us to create software.

HyperCard could probably still be found. Probably Joe can still
distribute IIGS System Software. HyperCard is considered to be
distributable by groups with a license just as they could with
System 6.0.1.

The program allowed users to develop some pretty good stuff.
You can see some examples at the Ground ftp site in the IIGS
HyperCard directory.

HyperCard works much like a visual HTML editor and there is
a powerful scripting language in HyperCard that resembles, of
all things, Javascript.

The only catch was that it required a system with 4MB of
RAM and System 6.0 or System 6.0.1.

Working with HyperCard, either on the IIGS or the Mac version
really opens your eyes because it shows that Apple was on
to something. This thing was a precursor to the web site
concept.
