Michael - I can honestly say that I really don't know about other people's
motivations, and when responding to your message, was just trying to
imagine the reaons why there's been no new Apple II software. There's been
no new freeware or shareware in quite a while, and I don't know
exactly why...

IOW, please don't take my word as gospel ;-)

As far as Spectrum, both the programmer and publisher actually use it, so
I expect that there will be updates and new features added over
time. After all, Spectrum Automated Mailer has already been updated
numerous times. And, Ewen has told me that once Marinetti is updated,
he'll update Spectrum to deal with whatever changes are implemented.

But, that's all off in the future.

I don't know if you know, but Ewen is a retired college teacher, and he's
said to me a few times that programming keeps his brain active. So,
obviously, for him...the journey is part of the reward.

That, and the challenge of "doing what can't be done on an Apple
IIGS" also plays a part. As do the royalties...
