Re: Making HFS CDs from Windows PCs

Hey! Ya got me interested by your post so I did a little messing around
with the CD thing myself! It really turned out to be simpler than even you
suggested. (:(:
Using Adaptec CD Creator 4 (Create CD) on a Windows machine , one can move
any downloaded apple files from your Hard drive (C:) or Hard Drive folder ,
etc into the cheque and then create an ISO 9660 CD by using a little
tweeking of the program. CD Creator WILL create ISO 9660 CD's which are
readily readable with the patched (fixed) HFS.FST on a IIgs!

Do the following:
1) Just run the program as usual,
2) choose the files or folder you wish to move (burn) to the CD as usual
3) with a blank CD in the CDRW drive, go to the lower left window of the
program, click on the CD name (usually something like "030323_1231". and it
highlights.
4) click on 'Properties" at the top of the window
5) This brings up a window entitled "CD Layout Properties"
6) In the volume label area, change the name of your upcoming CD to an
appropriate Prodos name :
ex. AppleIICD
7) In the file system slot, change from Joliet to ISO9660.
8) Burn the CD as usual!
It really IS that simple.
