Just about ANY *NIX should work. On a Mac you might be able to use OS X. There are various flavours of BSD (I'm waiting to find a larger harddrive to try NetBSD on a Mac IIcx). Of course there is Linux. I gather Linux on the Mac is not as good as OS X or BSD.

I don't know the status of TCP/IP on the GS. If it works it *should* be possible to set it up to work under Linux through a serial port or an appropriate NIC/hub/router. All you'd need is the appropriate software running on the *NIX box.
