Well, I was hesitant to mention this, but...

Geoff Weiss, the programmer primarily responsible for Spectrum Internet
Suite, has released an "experimental" add-on to SIS that doesn't require a
Unix Shell Acct. It works just like Netscape or IE, on those other
platforms....in so far as...you make the TCP/IP connection, and then start
your surfing from there, instead of having to be at a Unix prompt.

However, please understand that this "experimental" method relies on
Marinetti to make the TCP/IP connection, and the current version
of Marinetti is not 100% bug-free. Eventually, when the next version is
released, you'll be able to use SIS just like you use those other
programs, regarding using a TCP/IP connect instead of having to use a Unix
Shell Acct.

However, I'd be misleading folks if I said this method works great at the
present time. It's one of those "your mileage may vary."

Damn; I wish folks still supported Apple II programs by buying 'em, as I
wish I didn't have to pull rabbits out of hats just to try sell someone on
the only IIGS telcomm program that's still being updated.

But, since you're not...

Again, your mileage may vary using SIS from a TCP/IP connect. On the other
hand, it does work just fine from that Unix prompt.
