No war ever determines who is right. But it often demonstrates for all
history who is a fool.
I sincerely doubt that Iraq is the threat it was in 1990, but I don't
doubt the thirst for revenge of Hussein. I also remember how, prior to
the first Gulf War so many people were wringing their hands and loudly
proclaiming it would be a second Vietnam, just as Afganistan was for the
USSR.
I doubt that those wringing their hands this time are any more correct
than they were in 1990.
