I'm afraid I just don't get the "case" part of it. Just cut
out pictures from magazines and paste them into a pair of
reading glasses if that's what it's about. I don't use
emulators, and I do weep for the day that my GS is going
to cost too much to fix, or replacement parts are going to
be hard to find, or, worse, I'm just not going to care enough
to bother.

But back to the case... I remember having a Centris 650, then
buying a 7100/80. As much of a leap as it was between a 68k and
a PowerMac, they didn't feel in any sense like the same computer.
Look at them: except for the bezel, they use *exactly the same
case*. Both ran OS 7.1, had floppy and CD drives, and (if I
remember right) 500 mb harddrives. But they were *different
computers* (actually, I still have them, and use them, and
they still are completely different...)

Now, you're going to go from a "classic" GS, last updated
how many years ago, to a computer running Windows XP with
an OS X skin, LCD monitor...

It's like having both a beautiful stallion to a racecar. Both
have their own wonderful things about them, but you're
going to have to do a heck of a lot of imagining to pretend
that you're still riding Misty as you do 110 mph down the
boulevard.
