Re: BBS for IIe
You can convert the Apple II disk images found at the ASIMOV FTP
archive into real disk images with a Super Serial Card, Serial Cable
and the fantastic free ADT (Apple Disk Transfer) software.
ADT is really slick. Works great. It has two parts, a program that
runs on the Apple II and a program that runs on the PC. It comes with
great documentation on using it with the Super Serial Card. If you
have any problems or need a Super Serial Card, email me, I have a
couple extras. To get ADT initially transferred to the Apple, you
just have to make a serial link between the machines, initialize your
SSC on the Apple Side and then use any terminal program to transfer
the script that comes with ADT to the Apple. It will automagically
enter itself into the monitor, type in the program for you over the
serial link and save itself. From then on, you just run the two
programs on the PC and the Apple, Put in a blank disk and pick the
disk image you want to put on the floppy. There are hundreds of disk
images (including BBS programs) at the ASIMOV FTP site. If you have
any questions, send me a e-mail. Also email me the number of your BBS
when you get it up and running and I will call it.
