Appletalk message

I use appletalk so I can transfer files from a mac lc and an Apple IIgs. I
have a ROM 1 machine, so that means that slot 7 must be set to appletalk and
slot 1 or 2 to 'your card'. The problem is that if slot 7 is set to
appletalk, synthLAB won't run. Consequently, most of the time I keep slot 7
on 'your card'. When the machine boots into system 6.0.1, I get two annoying
messages that halt the system, telling me that the appletalk connection
could not be found and to turn on appletalk in the control panel. This is
only annoying, as I just hit enter and the system comes up. But, is there a
way to prevent these messages from occuring? Does anyone have an idea for a
better setup?
