Yes, the kit came with a IIGS logic board compatible metal base. It also has
the label on the bottom containing a IIGS serial number.

As a work-around to the kit, someone in an earlier post used a dremel tool
or other cutting instrument to convert a regular IIe metal base to handle a
IIGS logic board to obtain a similar result.
