Commodore 1702 & 1084 (color composite monitors)....as TV?

Hello,

I currently have my Commodore 1702 composite monitor (sometimes I have my
1084 monitor hooked up instead) hooked up to my Sony VCR through the A/V
inputs of the monitor. In turn, I have my cable connection in my apartment
hooked up to the VCR, and this is how I watch television, on these
Commodore monitors.

I was just wondering.....are there any devices out there currently, aside
from the VCR's built in TV tuner, which could be used instead to watch TV
on either of these Commodore monitors which I own? I belive Radio Shack
sells a "cable converter" box, does this thing have A/V outputs (I assume
it would handle VHF/UHF/Cable)?

Any other brands or suggestions?

I'm interested in primarily taking the VHF/UHF/CATV coaxial input signal,
and then through the use of a "TV tuner box", outputting the TV signal
through composite video and RCA audio (left & right/stereo) and into my
color composite monitors.

Perhaps a strange question to ask, as I am already accomplishing this
through my Sony VCR, but I'm just curious as to any alternatives out there
that are currently available.

thanks for any advice/help you can give me,
best regards!
