Problems with Laserwriter IIg

Hi,
I posted it on the Mac Addict on Delphi with no responses.

My question is about the 2 Blinking red
  lights.

I know that means bad power supply or possibly bad fuser.

I have replaced the power Supply twice within the last year.I have
picked up another one off Ebay this will make 3 times for
the year. I will also replace the fuser at this time. Replacing the
power supply seemed to do the trick each time, but they
should last a little longer I would think?

The first time, the printer was working fine. I decide to clean up
by removing the cover and using compressed air from a can
and my favorite Qtips. Putting it back together and firing it up the
2 red where now blinking.

Replacing the power supply solved this for a few months. Then the 2
blinking lights again. Replacing the power solved it
again for a few months. Again the 2 blinking red lights. I ordered
another power supply. While waiting for the power supply and fuser.

I tried the LaserWriter II again and again. Well after a number of
tries it came up fine. This only lasted a day at best. I was
able to get it up another time for a few hours.

My question is, if the power supply is bad, why or how could it
start to work?
If the fuser is bad how could it work sometimes? Is it like a light
bulb where the filament may make contact and work for a while?

  Thanks for any info
