Re: Problem with ADT transfer WIN XP -> Apple II+

Yes, ADT is a 'DOS' program that access the communication hardware port directly. Windows XP does not allow the program to access the port directly and thus causes problems. Your best bet is to boot into Windows 9x or DOS to use ADT.

Of course I have heard of a Windows version of the ADT program, but I can't say if that would work because I have not tried it.

Be sure to let us know when you get it working and how.

I am having problems getting ADT (1.22) to make a disk image (.dsk)
transfer from Win XP to an Apple II+ w/48k and DOS 3.3. I am using an
Apple SSC and have successfully connected the computers and transfered
the ADT Apple programs via text transfer.

When I start ADT on the apple, it allows me to successfully get a
directory from the PC, but when I try to transfer a disk image, I get
a bad sector CRC error on the PC side and the transfer hangs. This
occurs on the first sector always. I have tried several .dsk files and
baud rates with the same results.

Any ideas about what may be causing this?
