Google tells me that the A2M2056 is a composite monitor, which suggests to me
that what you are describing is normal Apple II video performance.

If your text-only screens look fine, but text on mixed mode screens has green
and pink haloes, that is normal... Apple II colour video is horrible at best
(in my opinion) but luckily the monitors work very nicely with a DVD player or
VCR.
