Re: TCP/IP for the ignorant?



I have my GS hooked up to a Mac 636CD running MacOS 8.1.  If I put in a data
CD in before logging in, I can access the CD ROM drive as well as the hard
drive on the Mac.  It actually seems to work faster than using a local CDSC
drive on the GS (at least for browsing folders).  So I am using the Mac as
kind of an archive machine for my offline/compressed GS files.  My next
project will be to try your setup whereby I hook the old Mac into a more
powerful Mac one via ethernet.  Want to get another phone net box and get
another GS hooked up to the apple talk network as well.  Also have a null
modem between GS and PC.  So I can transfer files in a roundabout way from
PC <-> Mac via GS!  Who needs PCMacLan :)
