Thanks. What I don't think you realize is that usenet is not permanent
storage... older posts scroll off as new ones appear. In addition, different
ISP's keep differeng numbers of older posts on the server. Finally, depending
on what news client you use and how it is configured, it will only retrieve
the last "xxx" posts no matter how many are on the server and will not save
the ones it has already downloaded unless you have it configured that way.
Giganews has posts stretching back to last August and Rubywand has posted
this series twice since then, most recently last week. Unfortunately, that
was before I looked in here, so it didn't appear in my client. However, I was
able to reconfigure and go back and grab it once I realized what you were
talking about.
Never the less, a copy must be stored on the web somewhere and that is a much
less transient reference to give out :-)
