not sure, but perhaps DiskCopy will open an ".img" file. but that's a
mac program. located here:

or you could try CopyII+ itself on an Apple II emulator or real
hardware. i've been using the ".img" extension for a few years to
denote an Apple II disk image that is in "CopyII+" order (as opposed
to DOS 3.3 ".dsk" (the most popular) or ProDOS ".po" order)
where'd ya get the program maybe someone can help you figger it out?
