StuffIt is a Mac program for expanding compressed files. These files can
contain a single file or folders and files
together.A similar program called ShrinkIt is used on the ][gs for the same
purpose. Some people use ShrinkIt
to compress files and disks on ][gs and then transfer these to Mac and Stuff
them as well for uploading. I have
downloaded zipped files that unzipped to stuffed files and then were shrink
files inside. Not many though, I believe
only ][.
Anyway, you get the idea. Now, ShrinkIt is freeware, a completely
operational system is available on FTP sites,
one of which is ASIMOV. The gurus can speel off the addys for you, but
Stuffit can only unstuff in the free version,
and can only do certain file compression types.
You need to buy the full version to be able to unstuff every type and to
stuff anything. That is available at
www.alladin.com, I think.
I hope this helped you, I have not been an Apple ][ user very long, and if
you need more help there are plenty of
people here who know more than I. Good Luck.
