Re: Transferring files to a IIgs

The best way, imho, is to buy an old mac. The old mac, with system 7.0.x
software can read both PC and Apple II 800k disks and makes an excellent
go-between. You can download the old GS/OS disks and disk copy from apple's
website and make your self a brand new set of system disks. The problem
though, is that apple changed the drive in macintoshes around the time of
the power pc, so the drive in the 6100 probably won't be able to make
bootable disks. Once you get things going, you could Appletalk the two. Just
turn filesharing on and share the hard drive on the mac, and adding software
is drag-and-drop. Also, you're going to want Shrink-It GS, as most programs
are in the .shk or .sdk file format. Good luck.
