As an alternative to purchasing a battery and fiddling with a
soldering iron, you may like to consider a software alternative.
Richard Bennett's ILTS can restore Battery settings on startup. It
sticks itself inside the ProDOS System file (the actual ProDOS 8, not
the GS/OS Prodos loader). Seeing as you have ditched GS/OS, it may do
what you need.
It can do a couple of other neat things too.
