Re: My AppleCD 150 can read CD-R's

Hi! Sorry, but you're posting to the wrong newsgroup. You should be posting
this question to one of the Macintosh newsgroups seeing the AppleCD 150 was
made specifically for them.

However, I think I have your answer. The AppleCD 150 was made waaaaaaay
before CD-Rs came out, which is more likely why that model of drive is
incompatible with reading CD-Rs in general. However, what I've found in the
past is that when you burn CDs at a much slower speed (2x at the most), it
increases the possibility of them being read on older CD-ROM drives. I have
2x CD-R disks I burned back in 1995, and I'm at least able to read them in
an AppleCD 300, which is the model after the 150. Keep in mind that when you
burn CD-Rs, the faster the write, the less compatible the disk will be with
older CD-ROM drives.

The only other thing I can think of is that the CD-Rs you're trying to read
are not in a format readable by a PC, such as HFS or HFS+, which are the
formats most Macintosh people use to burn their CD-Rs.
