You can set the serial ports using the ProDOS utilities

Can anyone help me change the baud rate setting from within a ProDOS Applesoft BASIC program running on a //c.

BTW I didn't mention that I have a constraint that requires I use the modem port, which defaults to 300 baud, rather than the printer port which defaults to 9600.

I found that this code sets the baud rate to 9600:
10 PRINT CHR$(4)"PR#2"
20 PRINT CHR$(1)"14B"
30 PRINT CHR$(1)"X E"

However, when you go back to screen output with:
40 PRINT CHR$(4)"PR#0"
and then later return to the modem port with:
50 PRINT CHR$(4)"PR#2"
the baud rate has gone back to its default of 300.

So I'd have to repeat the whole sequence every time. I'll do that if I have to, but I'm still looking for a one shot permanent way to change to 9600.
