That turns out not to be the case. They are able IN THEORY, but not in
fact. Many MANY older applications will simply fail to run on current
hardware, many others will fail to run properly. This is especially
true of shareware and freeware . If the software is not properly
written, it often breaks when the operating system is upgraded.

I still have software from my Mac + & System 6 days that runs under
Classic, and I have other software from the same period that broke when
I upgraded to System 7.

IBM or Mac, anything that was properly written, and doesn't break any
of the rules will work under the current OS. IBM or Mac, if it doesn't
follow the rules, it will break sooner or later with an OS upgrade.

If your old machine meets your needs, then use it, and stop bitching
about what other people want to do.

Yes, it has been clear from your initial post that you oppose such
things as posting on topic and in the appropriate newsgroups. You seem
to oppose any values surrounding not deliberately taunting people to
start an arguement as well. Not only are you a troll, but you are an
asshole scumbag. (Not that that is any surprise.)
