Burning GS CD-ROMs
You can make GS CDs with a WIndows PC.
Type "csa2cdrom" on Google to find the faq.
You can do more if you have a SCSI interface in your PC
(so you can backup your GS SCSI hard drive).
Even without a SCSI port you can put Apple 2 files on a MS-DOS formatted
CD-ROM and read it with the MSDOS FST in System 6.01
Don't use filenames longer than 8.3 or you won't be able to read it.
And if you're clever, you should be able to burn ProDOS formatted CDs as
well.
If you use a raw image file with Kegs (the IIGS emulator)
(that's without the .2mg header) you should be able to burn a 32Meg ProDOS
volume onto a CD using the FILE2CD program described in the FAQ.
Probably should be able to do a large HFS partition as well (though I've
never actually done that).
A bit trickier, is combining multiple partitions. You should be able to fit
20 32M ProDOS partitions on a CD-ROM.
I haven't been able to get partitions to work with Kegs.
But I have sector edited a partition table and combined files to do it.
I've been thinking of writing a program to make that a little easier, but
who knows if I'll ever get around to it.
I was concerned that the old Apple CD-150 drive might not read CD-Rs, but it
worked first time.
