I've got a whole lot of space in the magazine and not enough to put
there. For the December and January issues if any sysop wants a free
listing for their Apple// compatible BBS I'll put it in the personals
section. Either reply to this message for the next week or e-mail me
directly (put BBS in the subject line). Deadline for each issue is one
week before the end of the month.
Here is the info I'll need...
Name of the system:
Access Method -
Dialup -
Phone number (and area code):
Data format:
SLIP/PPP/Shell (regular BBS):
Net -
SSH/Telnet -
IP or Domain:
HTTP (Apple// subject matter available) -
URL:
Public/Private/Commercial access -
Conditions for private access:
Fees for commercial access:
Two 40 character lines for special instructions or a description (no
naughty language or anything to get me thrown in jail please):
Notes for newbies... Macs are *NOT* Apple// machines. Porn sites do not
meet the criterion of being an Apple// related system. I'm willing to be
flexible, but the line needs to be drawn somewhere. ;-)
For people who want to try and run an Apple// related BBS over the net,
http://freshmeat.org has had quite a few free/open source programs
available over the last couple of months.
The usual stuff applies. I have complete control over what goes in the
magazine. I can refuse to include anything I like based on a whim. This
is not a contract. Yadda Yadda Yadda...
One more thing... I don't need access to the systems (it would be nice
though), I just need to verify they are up and running.
Who knows if this will get you more people contacting your systems...
It's free so what the heck. ;-)
Later
Mike
