What term? David Empson is correct. AppleTalk responders (at least the 
only use of the term with which I am familiar) are on client machines 
for network admin purposes. Admin tools (Apple's Inter*Poll or Neon's 
Netminder, for example) keep track of network topologies via a 
broadcast/response dialog. The IIe workstation firmware contains a 
responder entity and the IIgs loads a responder entity with the ram 
based ATalk drivers.

Unless that is not what you meant by "call Responder".

In any case, file sharing using Appletalk between IIe's (with a 
workstation card) and/or IIgs' is only limited by the lack of a server 
entity for the II, not the hardware. Apple only provided client entities.
