Re: WHAT's NEW w/ MAC (Hardware)
There are SCSI DVD-ROM drives. I have a Pioneer 10-X SCSI DVD in my PC.
Wouldn't the OS have to have a driver to read a DVD-ROM disk or to make use
of a DVD-ROM drive's DVD reading capability? The only Apple II hard drive I
have right now is loaded with ProDos and I don't have a full set of disks to
install GS/OS 6.0.1. If I did, I would try to install the DVD-ROM drive and
see if it would still read a CD-ROM. It would be neat to try.
As far as reading a data DVD, I think even a 1X DVD speed is more than
1MB per second data transfer, isn't it? I think my SCSI card has a speed
limit of 1 MB/second.
Thanks,
Jason Whorton
