It is worth noting Sequential Systems did complete a SCSI-2 driver for
the RamFAST SCSI controller. Last year I added an Apple CD300e Plus
to my RamFAST and have been able to play audio CD's with this driver
and Apple's Media Controller NDA.
All the main control buttons function (play, pause, jump track
forward/back, stop, eject) except for the "scan" track buttons
which would normally allow simulated fast-forward or rewinding
of a particular song on a track. I think the audio buttons may
also not be working, they seem to do odd things (like cutting
out the left or right stereo channel).
It works nicely with my AE Audio Animator. Just hook the
audio-out in back of the CD-ROM drive into the input jacks
on the external mixer (which also gives you control over the
volume output). The driver is available from these sites:
