Printing error 255; Please help!

PROBLEM: When I send any files to the printer in any application (MS Word,
for example), the job spools, then the little page icon appears on top of
the desktop printer icon. Then the system freezes for several minutes. Then
it unfreezes and the following error message appears: "Failed to print on
the printer because of an error 255."

I have reinstalled the HP LaserJet software from the install disk. I have
rebuilt the desktop. I have trashed and recreated the desktop printer.

I have included below a detailed profile of my computer and the relevant
configurations.

I am now at a total loss and beyond frustrated. Someone, please, for the
love of all that is good, help me. (To reply, remove "SPAMFREE" from email
address.)
