Hi to you all,
It's been a long time so I don't know if you (Rubywand) are still
active around here... if not maybe somebody else has had the same
problem and can help me.
Well my question is, I have built the Mockingboard clone according to
the schematic you've put into the 'net, however for some reason it
does not work at all. The 6522 VIAs remain invisible to the processor,
e.g. if I put the thing into slot 4, the $C400 memory area still
behaves like there wasn't anything in the slot, outputting random
values and not retaining anything written there. I've triple-checked
the connections, and the signals are all there as far as I could check
it without an oscilloscope (which I don't own, unfortunately).
Does the plan actually work? Has anybody else built this device?
And one more question: There is a cap marked "5K 1KV Ceramic." What
does 5K mean in this case? 5000 pF i.e. 5nF? I don't really understand
that clock circuit I have to admit. In any case, the final CLK signal
(behind the 3 NOTs) has an average voltage of just 0.7V above GND, can
that be right? I tried hooking the CLK signal directly to Phi2
instead, that didn't work either, though.
Thanks for any help,
