Re: ebay and apple 2 parts

I think part of the issue is a combination of selling prices and weight. A
lot of the stuff may only fetch a couple bucks at auction and cost far more
to ship. For the potential seller, it is not worth the effort to box up a
big monitor or CPU and drag it into the post office for just a couple bucks
of net profit. So most of the II stuff you see on ebay is usually small
enough to ship cheaply and/or rare enough to fetch a worthwhile price for
the seller.

Sadly, more equipment is probably finding its way into landfills than we
would care to know.

Part of it might just be economics. Stuff is sold on ebay, hopefully to
parties who intend to use/keep the merchandise for awhile. So as a limited
supply of equipment finds its way into hands that are content to hold on to
the stuff, the secondary market dries up a bit.

Keep checking the local thrift shops, garage sales, surplus auctions (esp
university and public school) and you may find a gold mine at some point.
But even those are getting thin it seems.

Or maybe it is just a slow week on ebay.
