You are the man, Louis. Hope all is well with you.

In reading the e-mail from the foster father, it wasn't at all clear that
an AFC would be of any use. The foster father used the phrase "brain
damaged" and that might mean that the youngster has impaired motor
functions, but not necessarily. It might be best to ask before sending off
the AFC.

For those with seriously impaired motor functions, it would be impossible
to use a standard keyboard. So, the Adaptive Firmware Card allows you to
use alternate inputs. One of those that I've seen is like a giant keyboard
and another employed "switches" (that are a little hard to describe at 8
AM) that can be activated by head movement.

The short story of the Adaptive Firmware Card...it's for use by those
whose eye/hand coordination is impaired enough that they can't use a
standard keyboard.

And, let me tell ya...the AFC is a miracle that allows people with such
debilitating impairments like Cerebral Palsy to use an Apple II.

IOW, you need to ask the foster father about motor coordination and if
it's seriously impaired, you're going to be Santa Claus to that child with
disabilities.
