"select switch not on"

For some reason my system stopped working, when it has worked with two
different deskjets for several years.  When I try to print using
either AppleWorks GS with Pointless and true type fonts or Hermes I
get the message "select switch not on".

I'm using a ROM3 IIGS with system 6 on a Focus harddrive

I'm using a grappler+ card in slot 1.  The control panel settings
are DC printer grappler+, HP Deskjet 560C, slots 1, printer standard
settings.

I also tried booting this computer from a ZIP Iomega drive with a
different backup system 6.  Get the same results.

The printer works on a different computer with a grappler+.  Settings
are the same and the dip switches on the grapplers are the same.

Where is the select switch.  I have no idea what I might have done to
turn off the printer but sure would like to turn it back on.
