I can think of a couple. You can use Shrink II (order it from Joe Kohn)
which is a Mac program that can extract shrinkit archives directly to your
ProDos disk. You can also download a ProDos util called Unforkit and use
that to strip the forks before running Shrinkit to extract.

This sounds like an adjustment problem with one of the floppy drives
involved, if I'm understanding you. You can also use a IIgs in GS/OS mode
to work with your archives, then move them by floppy to your Color
Classic/IIe. ShrinkitGS can work with forked files.
If you run System 7.5.2 (free download from Apple) on the Color Classic
you shouldn't have any problems reading and formatting ProDos floppies.
There is also a ProDos system extension for 7.0 and 7.1. Maybe that's part
of the IIe card software, come to think of it, so you're probably already
using it.
