You can download 7.0 or 7.5.2 and upgrades free from Apple. I've also
collected quite a few versions of the Mac OS at flea markets and garage
sales. Your Mac will probably boot off an Apple brand CD drive if you put
in one of those disks and hold down the "C" key during boot.

Booting from a floppy can be done. You can use a 7.0 boot disk (if your Mac
supports 7.0, it's too old for some) or there is also a "Network Boot Disk"
that you can download free from Apple, which has a modified version of 7.5X
that is small enough to fit on a 1.44. I removed the network files to make
room for a non-Apple CD driver, so I can access a non-Apple CD drive and
then install from it.
