I got a Trackstar on a PC (clone 386 I built, running DR DOS 5.0 and Windows
3.0 with IPXODI networking on a ancient 3COM card) working. IIRC there are 3
Trackstars, 1 works on Microchannel, the other 2 on ISA. I have a ISA one that
came in a box marked "Tandy" with the "e" software and the little board that
hooks up between the Trancstar and the PC floppy controller you can get it to
see a floppy formated on a II running PCTransporter and a 5.25 Transdrive 360k
formated PRODOS disk. Why you would want to I do not know, but it works ;)
As to networking, I tried to get a TOPS card to work on that PC across my
Localtalk net but I never got all the interrupts, memory locations and proper
coffers of fruit to the gods of networking worked out. I now have a Appletalk
card. One day when I get that bench location cleared off again I will set it up
again and try that. Right now there is a different project taking its place.
My net is always in flux ;)
