And I have never lost any of either type of disk to "bit rot", meaning
data rendered unreadable by invisible causes.  (In the few cases
I have had of data loss, there was a clearly traceable cause of the
corruption.)

But my oldest 3.5" disks were written six years more recently than
my oldest 5.25" disks.
