Trying to do color text on a composite display would result in illegible
output.  You've probably noticed that the text is more legible when only
text is showing than when a mixed-mode display is active.  If the composite
output of the IIGS is like the composite output of the IIe (I've only used
my GS's composite output with a Monitor II), the computer basically produces
a color signal only while it displays graphics.  It produces a B&W display
in any text-only mode.
